I guess just don’t try and cheat. In normal classes (English, math etc) cheating is frowned upon, but in sports performance, when you cheat, your only cheating yourself from the opportunities you signed up for when you picked that class.

Tip Mrs. DeJong will hand out practice tests before a unit exam. If you do them the test is a breeze. If you ask for a quiz to be flagged, she'll omit it and it'll improve your grade.

Pay attention to when Mr. Gregory talks about cracking the universe, his daily life, 67 or when he hits the griddy, its all on the test (make lots of non-testable predictions, he likes that)

try to attend all of the classes, especially if semestered ( a lot of information is presented each day). Finish work promptly and do labs/assignments well (he gives out lots of bonus marks for this). for labs/group assignments pick GOOD group members, not the "village idiot" (this will probably be your group for the rest of the year). his classes are entertaining, interesting, and enjoyable- they were one of the reasons i didn't skip everyday ;) 1 con: there are some typos and poorly worded questions in his exams- so be careful!

Instead of just memorizing facts, make sure that you can apply your knowledge to application questions. For example, Diabetes Mellitus many organs and systems so don't just look at the basic effects of that disease because there is more to it!

he's very bad, never available for help, never budges on his marking even when he's wrong, makes us take notes all by hand including dragrams, and such, often forgets to teach parts of units which are going to be prevalent in the unit exam

I would recommend doing all of the homework and any practice reviews that your teacher gives you. Math 30-1 is a challenging course and you can’t get through it by doing nothing. Excellence comes from a lot of practice!

Pay attentively and participate actively, and your good to go! The only boring times are the documentaries, which are 20 minutes long (on average) and only a few times throughout the whole year. A lot of fun and a lot of learning. You can't help but participate.

Very nice teacher, asking questions is reccommended and if you need help he is often always available, I think he will replace you lowest quiz mark with your unit test mark but he gives you 1 unit exam rewrite. Recommend doing the study guide as sometimes questions there sneak into the actual test

Participate and you’ll go SO far in this class. Smith is without a doubt the best teacher I’ve ever had and I honestly think the best one ill ever have. There is so much opportunity for out of school programs and expirences thru Smith. She has changed my life for the better, and taking any class with her will change yours too.

Participate in class and take note of class discussions! Often Sperling will give away hints of what to write on essays/projects. You can find all your points just from listening to the class discussions. Learned so much in this class. it might be a bit harsh at times but it is well worth it!

Mr stotz was and is my all time favourite teacher. He’s one of the most knowledgable people I’ve ever met, being able to be in his class while he’s going on one of his famous tangents Is literally the best thing in the world. And he’s truly just such an interesting an amazing person. If you ever get the opportunity to take indigenous studies with him you absolutely should; I learned so many amazing things! The application of the knowledge I learned from indigenous studies not only helped me with social studies but is now helping me with post secondary education & don’t forget the real world application of the knowledge you learn from that course as well, I love that I was able to go on walks and be able to identify different medicines, and all the different guest speakers he brings in is amazing, you just learn so much about the world around you in a non western prospective and the different indigenous teachings is absolutely great. And just knowing more about the history of Alberta. I’m truly so grateful for him because he was an amazing teacher! And I’ve heard he’s just as good at teaching French and social. Yk what just take all of his classes!
