try to attend all of the classes, especially if semestered ( a lot of information is presented each day). Finish work promptly and do labs/assignments well (he gives out lots of bonus marks for this). for labs/group assignments pick GOOD group members, not the "village idiot" (this will probably be your group for the rest of the year). his classes are entertaining, interesting, and enjoyable- they were one of the reasons i didn't skip everyday ;) 1 con: there are some typos and poorly worded questions in his exams- so be careful!

honestly, one of the best bio teachers at the school. count yourself lucky if you have him. his classes are actually fun for an AP class and class averages are way higher than other classes. there is literally no way you can fail his class if you put in a little effort and pay attention ;)!
