At first, the course and its content appears really difficult and confusing which is why you should do the following. Aim to do all of the homework that Mr. Sanchez assigns (as they are for the most part, optional). He will only go over the homework if there are questions on it, which is why it's so important that you figure out what you don't get right away. If you are confused, ask him (I can't stress this enough) - he is approachable and it will make much more sense once he explains it to you one-on-one versus in class. If necessary, see if you can stay after school to get some help, this will help a ton!
Listen to rules and you'll be good. As usual, take notes because it'll be helpful when you're studying for the tests and he's not posting powerpoint slides at all in google classroom.
Just sit around, do the two projects, answer a few questions, and you're going to be okay
This is class is a LOT OF WORK for senior year. There is only one reason you should take this class and that is if you are aiming to max out your college application with every possible AP class you can take. Other than that, it is not worth it, especially if you have a 5 on AP Lang already. There is a lot of group work and it's terrible if you have a bad group. Make sure you're in a good group with friends you can meet with. You have to impose deadlines on your own group and space out the work otherwise procrastination will kill. The "claim" about this class 1st semester is that you spend a lot of time working on your college essays, but in reality if you're really aiming to have a good essay you'll do most of your work outside this class and submit whatever random drafts you have for homework. Hopefully you are a fast reader, a fast thinker, and a fast writer for this class otherwise you are screwed.
