The questions in the exams are not always a copy paste of the what you may read in the textbook, therefore, it's best you read to truly understand the material at hand. Also do not make the mistake of study the night or a couple of hours before the exam and taking notes can majorly help with your studying!

She assigns a moderate amount of homework, however, she expects you to study and know by heart things discussed in class. There are activities in the workbook that she makes students do orally in front of the whole class, so make sure you review everything. Tests are multiple choice/fill in the blank, but you really need to know everything well because she gives a small amount of time to complete it. She only posts PowerPoints after she has finished the module.

Fred was the teacher for my Digital Media 1 class and she was great! There was no homework and all work is done and completed during class time. She's always there to help if you're having any issues. FYI, do yourself a favour and don't talk in class WHILE she's talking. (she'll go off on you. ) By taking this class I learned the basics of photoshop and I will never forget how to copy a layer... (Ctrl+Jesus) If you take this class, you'll get the joke ;)

There are pretty lengthy reading assignments (the texts and the answers to the questions are long). Personally, I found them doable and interesting, but if you're someone who hates reading or writing a lot, maybe it's not for you. Still, she let you answer in point form, which I found really nice. There was one long (40min) group presentation at the end of the semester, but again, it was doable. Over all, I loved my experience in her class. The class itself is really interesting if you listen, and she even let us pick one religion we wanted to learn more about and made a class on it (Daoism).

I had him for Superheroes and it was a very interesting and fun course. On the days we had class, nearly always we would have assignments due at the end of the day but they were very simple, straight forward assignments that could easily be finished. As long as you did them you would get easy grades. The tests are fairly simple as well because they're based on material discussed in class, so you don't need to necessarily study although it would still be a good idea to do so. If you do the work you are guaranteed to pass.

Take clear notes on the texts to read in class as you are allowed a memory aid for the quizzes. Sit near the front of the class. Make sure you understand the assignments when they are assigned (MIOs are not answered very quickly). Allow yourself adequate time to complete his assignments some take a bit of time. Be patient with correcting of assignments as they are often returned quite late.

All the slides and lecture videos are posted on time, and she provides a lot of tools to succeed, while still being realistic and pointing out specific things to memorize or focus on. Chemistry of solutions is a moderately difficult class, and the calculations do take some practice. Always do the assigned homework as it really helps and counts for grades. There are 3 unit tests each worth 10% and the final is worth 30% but if that exam grade is better than a unit test than bit replaces that mark (aka the final could be worth 40%) There's lots of group work and lab groups will be made for you based on a survey the teacher gives out so you can be paired with other students that work like you do.

I had Mrs. MacCuish for the Community and Communications class. This class is quite different then others. Basically, it consisted of a 4hours class held in the Sainte-Anne’s Hospital. The students are given an individualized veteran/resident. As a student your role in the course is to communicate with your resident and after your meeting ends (usually lasts for 1- 1 1/2 hour) you are expected to come back to the classroom (which is also in the hospital) and write weekly journals on how your day went with your resident.

The homework he gives are very simple and test of you understood the basic concepts of the course material. Majority of his tests are mainly multiple choice, with some long answer questions. Make sure you follow exactly what he says in class and you should be fine.

I had Sylvie for my second class of Level 3 French. She is a great teacher. Throughout the semester we had mini quizzes which are easy to get 100% on. We had two writing pieces to complete, one reading test (which was on a novel we had to read) and one presentation. She is an easy grader when it comes to the writing compositions, however, in presentations she expects you to know your stuff. I would totally recommend her if you are wanting a French class that is not too hard.

Valerie is an amazing teacher! As long as you put in effort you will be rewarded with a good grade, the written work is not complicated and is very easy to get 100% on. If you miss a class she will give you opportunities to make them up. She’s very understanding and is not strict at all. I strongly recommend taking her class if you want to do well and enjoy the class.

I had Kenneth for Macroeconomics. There are 3 modules. Each module you have assignments to complete (they take forever! ). All the tests are multiple choices (but still seem to be difficult). You have three tests (which are worth 25% EACH). In addition, there is an easy project to complete, however it does not count for much (5%). Overall, a very demanding course, in terms of memorizing, but very interesting (if you are interested in economics).

Go over the slides and focus on the material that is given. It will not be challenging classes as long as you understand the material. There are usually weekly questions, and can be easy grades as long as you continue to do them and pay attention in class. Even if you don't if you reread the lecture slides it'll be fine.

Funny teacher, but be prepared to be the target of his humor, or get this nervous feeling that you just did not get it. His humor is quite refined, and can be disheartening for the weak of mind. You need to work relatively hard, and put in the effort. He rates harshly, but it pays off. I feel like I learned a lot, and bow 10 years later, i still remember his lessons.

I suggest to at least stay to do the quiz (every class, except when new material is started). If you spend a bit of time doing the perusall so you can get your points, it will boast your grade for all of the quizzes by a lot. Instead of doing the Lon-Capas, I think you should focus more on the problem sets. Questions are taken verbatim from the problem sets... The videos and power points he posts are not worth the time to go over them.

I had Felix for QM. He was very nice and knowledgeable. A lot of short and easy assignments (math not writing). He cancels classes many times. However, he is very strict with the roundings (ie. 6. 985——-> 6. 99). If you wrote 6. 985 he would deduct a full point off of that question. Overall, he is a very nice and helpful teacher.

In the class that I took with this teacher, Japanese Literature, journals were assigned for every class up until about 10 weeks into the semester. These are really easy grades to get and he tells you far in advance how much time you are going to need to complete the assigned work and reading. Keep up with your readings and you will be fine for journals, the one essay he assigns, as well as the short five minute reading tests that he gives hints for. If I could, I would retake him for another English class as he is not only hilarious, but an amazing teacher that knows what he is doing. If you have the opportunity, take him.

I took his class called Time Travel. I was expecting to learned about time paradoxes, the grandfather effect, the butterfly effect, movie that deal with time and space. But no. During the entire semester, we didn't even touch upon the subject of science or even clocks or watches or math. All my classmates were annoyed at the fact that they did not get what they expected and all we did were basic college readings of novels and plays.

I truly underestimated this class. I thought this was going to the the basic philo class taking about the universe and God and all that, but what I took away from it was so much more than that. I will admit I was scared of the workload and everything seemed to be going way too quickly, but once you understand the pace, its all good from there. I always looked forward to going to that class because the environment was so sharp and deep, people wanted to learned and they started speaking about their lives and their view on the world. This is a class that I will never forget.

Not all the test material is reviewed in class, you will have to do a lot of reading the text book on your own, but every exam I had with him was open book. He mostly goes over slides in class, but he gives links to real world examples. We had one 5% group project which was to prepare us for our 20% group project at the end of the semester. We had 3 exams all worth 20% and we had 15 quizzes all adding up to 15% of the overall grade.

I had this teacher for my introduction to Western Civilization class and she is a good teacher overall. However, make sure to attend all the classes as most of the quizzes depend on the class notes which are on the powerpoints. She does post them though, but be prepared to take a lot of notes. Paper notes are allowed during the quizzes and they do count for a lot, considering that they are quizzes (about 6% per quiz, for a total of 25%).

Pay close attention to small details on the income statements and balance sheets. Follow the examples and ask multiple questions. The multiple choice is very tricky.
