Class of 2022
I cannot recommend this enough to my fellow ALC students. A strong, captivating and moving class. The movies are well chosen and do not give you the urge to fall asleep. PowerPoints that are entertaining and funny while still educate one on the matter of the media and its influence on the world and films.
Class of 2020
The class overall is easy-going. Ultimately, I recommend re-watching parts of the films we watch for better reference when writing assignments. Additionally, the tests are not hard so I would not get too concerned about them and don't worry about writing excessively long answers to the questions when it is not required.
Class of 2019
I had Anne for Cinema & Society : Horror as a Social Commentary. This course was really fun! We watched very good films. Only have to write 4 big essays (1=750 words, 2= 900 words and 1=1200) and two in class reflection papers (400 words). Overall, very fun course, I would totally recommend.

Class of 2020
Overall, I really enjoyed Anne's class. The class I had with her focused on horror films and she made the class very interesting. She picked a very good and varied selection of horror films (although some of them were skipped or swapped with other films due to the COVID-19 pandemic shifting our class to online for the second half of the semester). The assignments were very reasonable in terms of what was expected of us. I also got along very well with Anne, she is a very nice person with a good sense of humor and I absolutely recommend her class.
