Lots of group work, so don't be scared to ask other people questions. There will always be a few kids that clearly already know french and should NOT be in French I, but most of the other kids will be as clueless as you are. Also, STUDY OR MAKE QUIZLETS FOR QUIZZES AND EXAMS

Don't spend too much time on sketchbook assignments! Ms. Asch is so nice, but follow her rules and make sure you try your best. She doesn't grade on talent, but on the effort you put into your art. Overall a fun class (for Visual Art), and has really fun projects.

He gives like 3 quizzes throughout the year and if you don't study the terminology on the slides he gives you you're cooked for those quizzes. Most of the class is spent copying off of the board, so as long as you can type, you'll be fine. Other than that, just ask other people for help if you need it. Also, make sure to have a heading on every single assignment (google docs, trinket, etc) because you run the risk of getting below a 70 if you don't.

All notes about basically every topic taught will be posted on classroom. More importantly, they will have the annotations already done. This is a great resource to use, though you typically won't need it if you write along in her class. There will also be a reference packet given that will have certain valuable formulas allowed in testing.

Always do the homework on your own, but if you choose to get answers from outside sources, make sure to ask someone to explain it to you. You HAVE to understand everything you're learning otherwise you're going to get lost very quickly. Mr. Chen is super knowledgeable and has lots of creative examples to help explain different algorithms and such. Best of luck!

Memorize everything, do ALL the extra credits. Participate sometimes, but ONLY if you know the answer 100%. Always make sure you conjugate correctly, and get 100 on every hw in the beginning. If you keep getting things right and she likes you, then you can use google translate and be like whatever. But only then.

Algebra 2 was a tough subject for me, especially because of the pandemic. Like all math, Algebra 2 is cumulative so if you have ANY confusion over topics, definitely study it and get help because it'll hurt you in the future if you don't. Ms. Costanzo is an absolute doll and one of the nicest teachers I've ever had.

Intuition goes a long way, but also when you're problem solving, organize out your information first before you even start (i. e. 2nd law equations for each direction, constraint equations from the problem statement) since it goes a long way to getting the general "plan" to solving the problem instead of having to figure it out mid algebra. The tests are a bit hard but the classes are curved in your favor iirc so it's chill.

I had experimental engineering with Mr. Iqbal. The tests are pretty easy, and the actual projects are manageable if you stay on top of them. If you do not goof off in class, you won't have any work to do at home.

If you are decent at reading and writing, then the class is rather easy (but not boring). Homework is very rare (often just reading parts you were meant to do in class if you ran out of time). There is the occasional essay and poster project, but these are also done in class. Asking questions is encouraged.

This class should be quite easy to do well in. She always says that she wants to "help you succeed". There is definitely some memorization needed but this is a really simple class that everyone should have in their pockets. TAKE NOTES!!! She constantly says that you don't need to copy down slides except for what she says, but always. take. notes. Don't write paragraphs of notes, but jot down anything important and especially concepts. Her tests are easy asf.

You will basically have to teach yourself in this class. There is no lesson plan and he just does random problems on the board and not explain them. The only reason people do well in his class is because they are to scared to fail and teach themselves, already know all the topics, or cheat off the people who do well. If you have him as a teacher make sure you make time to watch khan academy all the time.

To be honest, the class I too with Ms. Macenulty had some thick content; I feel as if her teaching style really had most students self-studying. So go get some useful textbooks to help you study on the side. During my experience pre-pandemic, she rarely posted any slides on her google classroom. She instead prints out the google slides and has us take notes on those. Sometimes she'd forget to print out the slides or the printer wouldn't work and she would just make up hand write notes. So yeah, those extra text/workbooks will probably help you.

Unless you're a native chinese speaker, which about 70-90% of the students are, you will feel very behind especially you're trying to take the AP Chinese exam. I would recommend using a extra supplement, like a textbook or review book, to take notes with as lessons feel very disorganized. There tends to not be a routine lesson plan and class often digresses to youtube videos and miscellaneous websites. You give a 1-2 minute speech or presentation almost every month in preparation for the AP, but you are allowed to look at a script which defeats the purpose of doing the speech in the first place (since on the exam you have you generate a speech on the spot with minimal notes). One good note is that if you want to do well but are struggling and communicate this with Mr. Qiu, he will set up times to help you often afterclass. But that puts the burden on you to make sure to reach out for his help.

Gives lots of opportunities at the end of the year take them, participate in his class it’s heavy toward you grade, most of his hw is not too hard, the homework quizzes sting but there’s a lot of opprutuniesi ahead so don’t stress too much about them, you’re going to do bad. But trust me there’s a lot of homework oppyrunieis. The tests aren’t too bad with good understanding and studying based on his slides and he prepares you well for the exam, but of course watch heimler

Make sure to study your vocab everyday, reading and writing. The class is extremely hard if you dont keep up with the new vocab you learn everyday as you build off from it. There are a lot of quizzes that require you to know the vocab from the unit. If you study and do the homework, (really do the work, no google translate like I did), you will actually learn and do well. Study study study! Its all memorization

Best class I've ever had. Here are some tips: - Try to participate in class dicussions almost always (not required tho! ) - The tests are very fair and unless you read the book its an easy 100 - For essays, be more creative, and make the paragraphs flow! --> he expects more from your writing & wants to hone your skills in it - Not a lot of tests tbh! : the tests consists of multiple choice and a short response which is analysis of characters
