Use all of the resources Ms. Cisnero gives you! She gives all the Pre-testing from previous years so you can get a grasp on how the questions would be asked not only on the test but also the AP Exam. Also, make sure to drop by her office hours (which she has almost always! ) because it is really helpful!

Do your work, NEVER HAND IT IN LATE YOU WILL GET A ZERO, everything needs to be memorized, memorize her sentences when you take notes dont make your own sentences copy hers down those exact sentences are on the fill in the blanks and there's no word bank- ever. You will also have to teach yourself half of the stuff that's on the test.

Like most History classes, this class requires a lot of memorization for tests which usally consists of majority mulitple choice, 2-3 short answer questions, and for a midterm, it's those two and a DBQ. Mrs. Hoovers' class is quite easy considering that it is at the academic level, but (it's up to you) I advise you to take notes on the most important stuff and important figures that are talked about. Although this is heavily opinionated, Mrs. Hoover is probably one of the nicest teachers that you could have and her "yelling" voice truly does not sound like one. She rarely has to yell, though. As far as I know, I always hand my homework in, but some of my friends have her and they sometimes hand work in late and she is quite lenient when it comes to that. Please, do not take advantage of that because the homework that she does give is easy and she usuallu gives 2 days for the considerably longer assignments.

Do not take shortcuts when studying for exams. Read the textbook thoroughly and utilize supplementary videos such as Heimler’s History.

Conrad Lell

Compared to Ms. Ju and Dr. Kumar, Mr. Lell wins best Pre-Calc Honors teacher by a landslide. He will teach topics in a way that guarantees that you know what you're doing by the tests and quizzes, as long as you listen. About 20-40% of each class is a lecture, and the rest of the block is free for you to practice the topics on OneNote in your group. He's always walking around in case you have any questions or if you just want to talk about anything in general. The class itself is easy as long as you have a strong math foundation and memorize the formulas as soon as possible. Lell is the most lenient out of all of the PCH teachers both in-class and when grading. If you believe he took off too many points on an assessment, there is a chance you can earn some back if you have a reasonable argument. Everything is on OneNote, and he will make you spontaneously explode if you don't have your Lenovo. The classwork and homework itself is rarely graded, if at all. There will be take-home quizzes and graded homeworks periodically (as in I got maybe four throughout the entire year) that you need to turn in digitally on Canvas by whatever time he chooses. Assignments aren't always due at 11:59 PM. Sometimes it's 11 PM or even 8 PM. Regardless, be on top of all the deadlines if you want to succeed in the class. Most of your homework/classwork grades are the reviews he assigns before a test. Mr. Lell is very quirky, and he was my favorite teacher sophomore year, and probably ever. Even if you don't like math for some criminal reason, you'll like him and his personality. Never once have I seen him in a bad mood. If you have any questions outside of class, you can always email him, and as long as it's at a reasonable time, you're almost guaranteed a response. Like, it's scary how quickly he responds to his email to the point you question if the family and life he claims he has outside of school actually exists. You can always come into his room before school starting at like 7:15 if you need any help with anything or if you just want to talk to him. He's really chill, and you will miss him as the school year ends.

If you are taking Mr. McInerney's Law in Society class, I advise you to really pay attention to what he is saying and the subject matter he is teaching about. He rarely gives out tests and when he does, he lets you use any notes that you took on a piece of paper. He will tell you about th test a few weeks in advance and they are not extremely hard, but if you do not understand something... ask him and then write it down someplace where you won't forget it. He rarely gives out homework and he is a pretty relaxed teacher because he does not force you to write a lot on assignments, but he does not oppose it.

Best chem teacher ever. Is kind, easy to make laugh, very fun, and it's so easy to tell that she cares about her students. Best period of my sophomore year, hands down. Always looked forward to the class and always made sure you understood. If you happen to get her as your teacher, you're in the most amazing hands:)

Mrs. Moran teaches a few different English classes and I had her for my English 10 course. For an academic level English class, the course is not too demanding, but if you do not read, you will most likely fail the reading check quiz (RCQ). Mrs. Moran lets you take notes and allows you to use them on the quizzes, so if you are not adept at memorizing what you read, then you should definitely take good notes. At least Shmoop if you end up not reading (I am a reader, but I advise you to read a summary if you actually read it and do not understand it). Most of the homework is just to read and take notes, but sometimes it might be a short 15-point writing assignment or taking notes on something else. It's not necessarily a hard class, as long as you are paying attention and are asking questions. I only remember writing one big essay and it was a Synthesis essay... it's subject to change, but you rarely write essays. Usually you just write short 1-3 paragraph writing assignments analyzing something or generally just writing about something else.

For US History II H, all you really had to do was be awake during the daily lectures and you'd most likely pass the exams. Some of the content was quickly skimmed or not reviewed in class but they're usually small details that wouldn't destroy your grade if you didn't know them for the tests. Regardless, a majority of your grade would come from the online assignments (assigned as homework) but as long as you put in a reasonable amount of effort into them, they're easy 100s. There's no reason one should fail the class (as in lower than a B) unless they cheat on assignments or just refuse to do them.

Mr. Scialabba's (pronounced shuh-lah-bah) Introduction to Sculpture class was very easy as long as you do the work. Mr. Scialabba is basically a giant child who was placed in an adult body (in the good way) so he's very kind and spontaneous. As in he will jump on tables randomly to get everyone to pay attention spontaneous. The class, being an art class, requires a decent amount of creativity. At the beginning of each unit, there are long presentations and demos that may make you question reality, but they usually only last one class period. Regardless of what you do, he will make sure you feel supported and will tell you how you can improve your sculpture. Even if you hate art, you will love Mr. Scialabba.

AP Psychology is an awesome class! The concepts covered are not particularly challenging, but there are a lot of them. The best advice is to not only memorize and understand the concept but be able to apply it in real life situations AND construct your own situations in which the concept is seen, since all the exams have essay questions about real life situations. The format of the class is almost always taking notes on powerpoints, so take good notes and listen well in class because sometimes the examples given are what show up on the exam.
