I suggest trying to keep up with the work and assignments given to you and try to behave even if everyone around you isn't. be warned that this is a very strict class and not a very creative one. most assignments are simple enough though rather boring. however do be warned she often loses and misplaced assignments, so when you turn it in make sure to get evidence.

Study for tests, they make the most difference, along with getting your homework done. You don’t have to get the homework questions right, you just have to do them. Just completing the HW will give you a lot of points as there is a homework assignment every single day, so getting them turned in might save your grade.

study constantly. NJROTC may be a replacement for pe but it is in no way easy. you have a lot of memorization you have to constantly do. from learning the phonetic alphabet, (alpha, bravo, charlie, echo, foxtrot, ext.. ). you also will have to remember the exact placements of instruments on the NSU uniform of your gender (and eventually both genders+ if you want to go up in the ranks. ). speaking of ranks you will have to spend a lot of personal time (after school, before school, and on weekends) to pass the class with 100%. this class requires you to march like an army eventually with show guns, have 15 hours of community service completed per semester, have could physical health scores, and you have to memorize everything that is given to you.

Be sure to always follow the reading schedule and make sure you take down notes when reading or watching lectures! Pretty fun class but you cannot slack off.

To pay attention to the lectures. He teaches through doing the homework problems from the book with the class and explains it that way. Pay attention to the reviews before the exam as well and study those problems because he puts the same problems on the test with different numbers.

Read the assigned pages, very necessary for reading checks. For AP Lang especially, always do the MC test corrections. If you hear of an extra credit opportunity, take it. Essays are difficult, but if you apply her criticism immediately, scores will improve.

The teacher teaches English and Psychology. This is for the Psch class. The material is interesting and the teacher is very organized. Do all the homework. For the tests the MCQs are directly from the textbook and she will often put very obscure details from the textbook instead of testing your understanding of the concepts. So do the reading and really focus on the details from the book. The best way to get a good grade is to do the test corrections which will increase your grade on every test by one whole grade. She is very picky about grammar and formatting (be thankful you are not in her English class) so you need to be very particular about that when you do the test corrections. I wish this class was a lot more fun than it turned out to be. It will definitely not increase your interest in the subject but you will still learn a lot.

Pay attention to all the notes and everything assigned. Everything that you are tested on you have been taught at some point in her class. Utilize the help she provides, by far one of the best teachers at elco.

You can only make up an assignment or test in 5 days. Usually, on Thursday she is open for lunch but only on Thursday. As an athlete this is very hard to do when you are out for a game or if you are just sick.

This class can be very difficult even you love reading and English. Mr. Mcfarlin's tests require you to pretty much memorize the books/chapters and the answers he wants are very random and unfair. Also, he almost never gives feedback, so it is hard to get better in his class. Plus, if you do go to him for help, he can be mean and unhelpful. My big advice would be to memorize each chapter and all the details, and try to do the grammar exercises to balance out your grades on his reading quizzes.
