A very solid class to take, just make sure to put your heart into your work, and try your best to be creative. Don't be afraid of doing stuff outside the rubric on projects, or taking creative risks, it will more often than not be okay as long as you try your hardest!

I was in her Grade 9 Academic class, and she always posts everything you need to study. It's easiest to use Quizlet and have it generate flashcards quickly. You'll probably have homework every day, and Madame Cappelli tends to make the due date before 11:59 PM. Other than casual studying, her course is relaxed for people who did well in elementary French.

It helps to know coding basics outside of the class, as sometimes material on the test is either not covered in class "lessons" or is mentioned briefly in passing. Also the lessons are more like demonstrations of how to code certain programs, and often he challenges the class to figure it out on their own before he gives the answer. Again, knowing basic code helps.

The class is enjoyable and very structured (if you keep up with the work). Try to find things you are interested in for the course contents, it will really make a difference when you are asked to write reflections. Don't write one-sentence answers to the worksheets, try to be concise and extend your thinking on them you mark will appreciate it. Quests/quizzes sound scary but they're quite simple and you'll ace them with a 90+ if you have some common sense and pay basic attention to the slides. Ask questions every so often, and have fun!

Try not to make silly mistakes by practicing a lot, cause even if you think you know the material, there's still always a chance to make a silly silly mistake that can get you marks off. Mrs. Giang is always willing to provide help or explain whatever you do not understand. Try to pay attention in class, the few homework assignments that she checks are not always for completion. More often than not, she checks your process or how you got the answer you got.

Overall, I would say she is a good teacher and can clearly explain concepts (for Gr. 11 functions). Tests and quizzes were pretty easy. The questions were pretty much the same as the ones in the lesson or textbook (She usually doesn't ask the questions that are super hard to answer). However, the exam was brutal. She picked out the hardest questions to put on her exam or questions that make you think hard.

HL Econ is such a free course; take it over SL econ. You do same amount of work but 3 sems instead of 2. Study your stuff but don't just regurgitate textbook; the exam will require you to do more application stuff so prepare for that.

For grade 10 math, her CPT exam was a lot harder than the actual exam. Also, for her tests, make sure to understand the concepts very well because a lot of her application questions aren't exactly like the ones from the textbook. They are similar, but she twists the question a bit to make it slightly harder (therefore, memorizing the steps to answer a word problem will not help lol).

I love his class, he's funny, and makes sure we understand the course work, and offers a lot of help, he help make me stronger in math and like it even more! he does mark homework and it does go towards the grade but the stuff if pretty straight forward. WARNING: 100% of test material is on the tests, PA's included (PA is a performance assessment to see how well you understand the material)

for grade 10 history tonsssss of presentations but you get to choose who to work with and you can gen just read off a script no one cares and i remember the tests were hard so study on those!! also try to learn from other peoples presentations if you havent reviewed their topic since its likely you'll be tested on it anyways id recommend choosing bigger topics as you'll find yourself repeating them (ex: writing about women suffrage)

- do the homework, it helps a lot for quizzes and your exam - she likes people who participate - her marking is very fair - homework is very easy - if you finish your homework in class, you will not have homework for the rest of the day (to put in perspective, as a french immersion student, it took me 15 mins max to complete the homework given, and she gives around 30 mins at the end of class to do any other work)

Grade 11 World Religions. You gotta memorize a lot. This specific teacher likes to teach heavily from the textbook. You would do good to memorize every page of it. Make sure your essay writing skills are impeccable, and check your grammer & spelling before submitting things. On tests, ensure your answers are very detailed, as much as you can remember. IB Grade 10 History. The teacher is lovely, you have nothing to worry about. Do not horse around in class, you will come out on top. The exam was a walk in the bag, and she prepared us very well. Know your Cause/Effect and OPCVL. When it comes to writing your Historical Investigation, do not procrastinate it. She posts most lectures, except for a few. When that happens, it is probably an important lesson she wants you to take notes on - not that you shouldn't be taking notes for every lesson anyways. Good luck, you got this!

The tests aren't as hard as you might think it is based on the material. You should consider taking notes though- they may be useful later as not all the details are on the slideshow. Mr. Parravani uses a brainstorm method where he has a slide and then uses a whiteboard marker to further expand on an idea.

Pay attention and study the material in class. This may sound dull to you, but trust me, this teacher is very fun and nice. If you're someone who judges by appearance, you may be put off by his huge frame, but you will quickly know that he is a very nice teacher. He jokes around a lot, and he is also an author. Don't play games in class or go on your phone. If you're an online student, do not leave your device. If you follow these rules, you will have a good time and come away with a good mark. Personally, I left the class with a 90 last year despite never managing to get above a 70 in elementary school.

shes also so nice and when i did my orals with her she didnt stare into the depths of my soul and wasn't scary at all. she really tries her best to help you on the questioning part too (she gave me a bunch of nice ez questions and followed up with easier ones when i was panicking lol). Absolutely goated teacher. I love her she's literally my fav. idk why everyone complains about her "being strict" or whatever, just don't be late for class and don't go on your computer when she tells you not to and you're fine. idk why but she's so funny with her random stories about being robbed?? as a bank teller and her boss absolutely freaking the hell out even though they're literally trained not to do that. anyways 10/10 teacher love her and her funny stories sm i wish i had french this year too :((

Pay attention during class. Ask questions, and respectfully challenge the teacher on different ideologies. This often leads to a fruitful debate and conversation. If you have a question regarding work, ask in class, not over email. Course is super chill and mainly about learning rather than grades. One of the best courses I ever took. Consider yourself lucky to have Mr. Y. He is a wonderful teacher who truly cares about each student.
