It is by far the best class you can take at Lisgar. It is great fun, and there is not a lot of pressure to be the "best". Mr. Arjang wants you to try, and participate and that's all. Great class that I highly recommend.

Make sure to follow his guidance well, and try not to make errors. If you have questions, do not be afraid to ask him, he is a very helpful teacher and getting a good grade should be fairly easy as long as you follow the rules.

- take advantage of work time offered at lunch/after school - effort will be recognized so if you can't program very well you could still get very high marks for trying. - this is a self study course, meaning you have to do a lot of troubleshooting. Do not take the class if troubleshooting is not your strong suit - very little exam review is done so be prepared to review on your own ~ xoxo Gossip Girl ~

The class is extremely challenging, make sure you look for perfection in your work. Always study for super quizzes and do labs for harder units, they can be a backup if you flunk the test. Multiple choice sections of his examinations/tests tend to have a few trick questions, so read them extremely carefully, but don't take up much time on them since the long answer questions tend are worth more. Study a bit of his AP course material even if you are in the non-AP class as the quizzes tend to have some questions in them about it. He WILL ask a few hybridization multiple choice questions throughout the year despite saying it isn't important. Always think outside the box, the multiple choice questions can have no answers sometimes. Always look out for sig figs, it's an easy way to lose points. The first unit test/super quiz will have an abysmal average, be warned, you learn to maneuver the class over time. Equilibrium is not a hard unit if you really try to understand it (it is also weighted very high so that's a bonus, be careful with the multiple choice questions however and really think about what's being said). A tutor is recommended if you wish a high 4. The labs get progressively harder and harder throughout the year, keep this in mind for studying. Take photos for the labs as they really increase your grade and finish the hypotheses of labs as soon as possible so they don't cause issues with your other classes (and sometimes when you submit them early you will get feedback to improve it before your final submission on the day of the lab). Exam does not have many trick questions but is heavily knowledge reliant. Sometimes the presentations if his can be a bit confusing so make sure to ask many questions in class (the teacher is very happy to answer them so that's a bonus) God be with you in this class and learn from my blunders!

Never, ever arrive late (there will be consequences) and any not paying attentions/having fun is strictly forbidden. Do not wait to be warned or alerted, emails home on the first time you do anything that isn't paying attention will cost you a lot of time and annoyance. Make sure to never pull your phone out in class and to behave your best. The grading is somewhat strict so strive to do everything you can to do the best.

She marks fair, but I would say on the lower end. She pretty nit-picky about proper terminology and you need to include certain keywords such as "diffusion, surface area" or else you just lose marks. The best thing to do is to skim over the materiel in the textbook ahead of time, and do every single one of her worksheets, as the notes/worksheets have every single answer on every single test with the correct terminology.

- don't get stressed over tests and essays, you will do better if you are not stressed - DO THE CHAPTER QUESTIONS even if she does not mark them they will help you greatly with the tests and essays AND READ THE BOOKS/PLAYS don't just skim over them actually read them if you want to succeed - not much grammar is done so brush up on your grammar - the exam, which is an essay, is worth 30% of your grade ~ xoxo Gossip Girl ~

- if you get 80% or more on your summative you don't have to do the exam - many group projects, be ready for that. If you are no comfortable in group projects, do not try to be the leader of a group, you will not succeed - yes there is memorization but it is important. The terms you memorize are very important in business - easy to get high marks, try hard and your mark will skyrocket and with that your average will be raised too - if you have to write the exam, review on your own as exam review isn't done ~ xoxo Gossip Girl ~

She allows you to go on your phone for work, but do not use it for playing games. She's usually pretty chill, just stay on task and she'll like you. She has a lot of tests and practice speaking before the tests.

- Listen in class because he explains things that you won't find/understand on the slides. -His classes aren't about memorizing small things like historic dates or the number of casualties in a war battle(he'll tell you if he ever does). -There is something he'll want you to do a lot and that is critical thinking.

Don’t rely on the google classroom for due dates. Try to remember them when she announces them in class. If you forget, ask friends Many test questions will have multiple parts. Make sure you read through the question multiple times to understand everything that’s needed

The most important things are: handing assignments in on time, completing the worksheets for binder checks (most important) and to listen and answer questions in class attentively. There are no tests mostly and keep consistent **critical thinking** procedures for written assignments and oral presentations. Expect lots of amusement and entertainment in his class.
