The class is extremely challenging, make sure you look for perfection in your work. Always study for super quizzes and do labs for harder units, they can be a backup if you flunk the test. Multiple choice sections of his examinations/tests tend to have a few trick questions, so read them extremely carefully, but don't take up much time on them since the long answer questions tend are worth more. Study a bit of his AP course material even if you are in the non-AP class as the quizzes tend to have some questions in them about it. He WILL ask a few hybridization multiple choice questions throughout the year despite saying it isn't important. Always think outside the box, the multiple choice questions can have no answers sometimes. Always look out for sig figs, it's an easy way to lose points. The first unit test/super quiz will have an abysmal average, be warned, you learn to maneuver the class over time. Equilibrium is not a hard unit if you really try to understand it (it is also weighted very high so that's a bonus, be careful with the multiple choice questions however and really think about what's being said). A tutor is recommended if you wish a high 4. The labs get progressively harder and harder throughout the year, keep this in mind for studying. Take photos for the labs as they really increase your grade and finish the hypotheses of labs as soon as possible so they don't cause issues with your other classes (and sometimes when you submit them early you will get feedback to improve it before your final submission on the day of the lab). Exam does not have many trick questions but is heavily knowledge reliant. Sometimes the presentations if his can be a bit confusing so make sure to ask many questions in class (the teacher is very happy to answer them so that's a bonus) God be with you in this class and learn from my blunders!

In Mathematics: Make the most of the super quizzes, they are your best tool and safety net. Also check his notes on the website to catch up. In AP Chemistry: review the notes he makes on the class website, they are incredibly useful. They're made with such detail that you can literally learn the entire curriculum on your own with them if you wanted to. Seriously. Also in AP Chemistry: If you hard grind the labs they are basically a free 4-4+ although they will usually take a whole night up until 2-3am to finish, but working with others helps. Copy your friends' stoichiometry if you need to. If you are in the grade 12 half of AP Chem, finish the equilibrium lab over Christmas break, because you won't have time at the end of the semester, especially with other courses. He does not check the homework, which makes it easy to ignore, especially when it's just a pile of textbook questions. But if you do all the ones he mentions at the end of the pdf, you will roll his courses with ease.
