I would say, you should just study a lot of the tests. It's pretty structured and easy to know what counts and how to do it.

Just turn the assignments in. She never gives tests, gives you unlimited retakes, literally offers to give you one-on-one tutoring zoom calls at 6am on a Sunday if that's what it takes to bring up your grade. One of the kindest people I have ever met. Only thing you have to memorize is hiragana, katakana, and your name, which is tested every quarter. The quilts she provides really help.
