Precalculus Honor: Homework doesn't count in the grade book, but do it for frequent practice. Make your own review sheets before tests and take advantage of retakes.

Very kind and understanding. If you do not understand something, or something is difficult to grasp, see the teacher. He takes the time to carefully explain each topic. Very passionate and knowledgeable about history so take advantage! I can't say this enough––if you need help, go see the teacher! The class is not too difficult, you just need to do your best.

Biology I Honor: This is a standardized class, meaning that every teacher who teaches gives the same assessments. Because of this, the assessments are generally easier than non-standardized classes, as multiple people are coming together to make them. The class itself moves quite slowly in terms of content and assessments, leading to a content rush right before the final exam. But, there is very little homework or formal writing in the class, and the concepts are made clear through the use of images and diagrams, as well as written explanations and video lectures.

There is way too much mindfulness and student skills in this class. The class is more about your habits than the class material. She is a nice, helpful person, but focuses not enough on the material.

U. S. History Honor: the grade is not weighted and is simply based on adding up point values from all assignments (including quizzes and tests, which count as assignments). Tests (50 min)/papers/final projects (2-6 weeks) are worth 100 points, quizzes (30 min) are worth 50 points, essays (50 min) are worth 18-25 points, nightly homework (30-90 min) is worth 3-10 points, and surveys (5-10 min) are worth 1 point. Quizzes have multiple choice (15-25) and open response (1-2) questions. Tests are the same format, but also include labelling of the U. S. Map or the U. S. Constitution (10-15 questions). Midyear and Final Exams (90 min) are worth 120-200 points and are the same format as tests. Study well in advance for assessments. This content is very important to learn, but the amount of work is a stretch for an honors (non-AP/IB) level class. However, content assessments (quizzes, tests, and exams ) are very reasonable. Don't stress about the Comparative Research Paper (6 weeks of preparation, 8-22 pages, 100 points). As long as you have done okay in the class so far, it cannot make or break your grade.

If you need any help, or just need someone to talk to... Ms. Whitebone will be there. She is there for everyone. Do NOT hesitate to ask whats over––she adores English and adores talking to people which makes her the sweetest and most kind person ever. I would just talk about books and writing with her and I could talk to her for hours. Oh, what a great experience.

Study for the tests and always ask questions. Physics is an especially challenging topic so make sure to get the grade you want on a test you always study. The tests are often harder or more difficult than the classwork BUT it is entirely based on every concept you have learned. Again, just make sure you know all the concepts and make sure to communicate and advocate if something is bothering you.

- there aren't often many points where you will need to sit down and study. Take advantage of this. Because there aren't many formal quizzes, make sure you are putting tons of effort into your classwork and essays. - Essays: being a good essay writer is key in this class and this teacher, Ms. McAllister, will help you get there. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. (also very wise and SO SO FUN TO TALK TO!! ––getting to know her and being engaged in class is a great way to foster a love for this class) - Evidence and Reasoning in essay writing: write with flow and elegance. Be powerful in your stance and present your evidence clearly. Your reasoning should be nuanced and strong, it should be where your writing skills shine. REVIEW THE RUBRIC. REVIEW YOUR WORK. CUT, CUT, CUT. Having long essays or answers to questions is not always good. Especially in history where it is important to sometimes be CLEAR AND CONCISE (esp. in this class–clarity is incredibly important), These are a few points I have learned from my teacher.

Just do the readings and notes and you'll be fine. Use Grammarly to check your sentence-writing assignments because he grades them very strictly. Also, use in-class study time to practice for exams!

Spanish IV Advanced: Study for assessments; doing poorly on any one quiz can absolutelymess up your grade. Because of that, ask about retakes if your grade is significatly effected; he'll do his best to help you out. Use the play project as an opportunity to relax and take a break from daily assignments. However, be flexible because deadlines for projects can be moved/announced at any time. Bring water because the room tends to get very hot (no A/C).

This teacher, Ms. McAllister is so incredibly articulate, eloquent, and well-spoken. I believe a former English teacher, Ms. McAllister gives the best writing advice and as well, as before is just so well-spoken. I have been impressed so many times at just how she is able to discuss different topics. As well, the words she uses have taught me new meanings, and to be frank, I have learned so many new words, sentence structures, and tips. Certainly will make you a smarter person and will definitely make you ADORE HISTORY. ALSO, HER PASSION IS SO APPARANT AND MAKES THIS CLASS SO INCREDIBLY INTERESTING. BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

You WILL have to teach yourself some things: verbs, vocab, tenses, flow, pronunciation... You will have to practice with yourself to see improvement; You will have to learn vocab on your own time and practice it with friends... Memorize the verb endings at the beginning of each unit (for any language class) Memorize the domain-specific vocab and always try to use it. Practice, practice, practice. Do your best work. This is not a tough class if you enjoy the language.
