Class of 2025
U. S. History Honor: the grade is not weighted and is simply based on adding up point values from all assignments (including quizzes and tests, which count as assignments). Tests (50 min)/papers/final projects (2-6 weeks) are worth 100 points, quizzes (30 min) are worth 50 points, essays (50 min) are worth 18-25 points, nightly homework (30-90 min) is worth 3-10 points, and surveys (5-10 min) are worth 1 point. Quizzes have multiple choice (15-25) and open response (1-2) questions. Tests are the same format, but also include labelling of the U. S. Map or the U. S. Constitution (10-15 questions). Midyear and Final Exams (90 min) are worth 120-200 points and are the same format as tests. Study well in advance for assessments. This content is very important to learn, but the amount of work is a stretch for an honors (non-AP/IB) level class. However, content assessments (quizzes, tests, and exams ) are very reasonable. Don't stress about the Comparative Research Paper (6 weeks of preparation, 8-22 pages, 100 points). As long as you have done okay in the class so far, it cannot make or break your grade.

Always take notes during class, as that is what you will be tested on. The tests are worth a lot (tests=100 points, quizzes=50 points) so make sure you study. Quizlet can be helpful.
