Excellent course and Mrs. Farmer made the class even more awesome. I am truly being honest that you are lucky to get her as a teacher for Chem Honors. Everything is on her website and she even has her own YouTube Channel. I would recommend her YouTube channel before any small quizzes. If possible. watch at 1. 5-2x speed to save time. I would also say try to watch them all before big exams. Note that the class has 14 units, and each unit has 1 quiz. Quizzes are all MCQ and are around 15-20 questions. Time limit around 2 min per 1 question. Every 3 units or so, there is a Test which is equivalent to the final. Take these seriously, and make sure you do well on all of them. Final is hard but doable as long as you have paid attention throughout the year. She has a lot of built in review activites for both finals, so you can utilize these. The second sem final is full year and cumulative, be warned.
AP Calculus AB: Only teaches AP Calculus AB, and is super focussed and dedicated to his students. Has a SUPER GOOD 5 rate, and about 85% of his kids get a 5 on the AP Calculus AB Exam. I would suggest not getting intimidated during the first week of AP Calc. There will be a lot of hard tests through the way, and the first week is the hardest. I was thinking of dropping the class after the first week, but eventually I stuck with the class. Just do all of the assignments he gives, and read his OneNote. His resources are KEY to succeeding in AP Calc, for both the AP Exam and the course. I would recommend to take ALL WebAssigns very seriously, as they are how your assessments will be. FRQs!!! The FRQ's in this class are graded super hard, because they are graded like an AP Exam, so even if you get the right answer, but there is an error with your work, you will not get the answer point. Make sure you show work VERY NEATLY and VERY INFORMATIVELY. MCQ's: Since there is practically no inflation for grade points, use the MCQ's as buffer to keep your grade up. *A significant step from normal Precalculus, but you will be fine. Just keep persevering. Everyone around you will be proud of taking AP Calc since the class is a college course.
Study every day, make sure you are competent in algebra. You will probably end up with a B - low A so do not be too discouraged with your grade (HPC). Not a bad teacher, just very tough course compared to the others. If you do not do well on the App B you are able to drop early and take the course elsewhere without affecting your transcript.
