Mr. Anderson uses fill-in-the-blank notes which makes studying easy. In reality, if you just listen during his lectures you will be able to get a good grade in the class. Tests are memory heavy but there aren't any questions designed to "trip" you up. Very straightforward class: you either do the work or you don't.

Class is pretty straightforward. The biggest challenge for most people is the speaking portion, and Profe puts a lot of emphasis on it. There are pretty endless resources to work on that, so take advantage. Homework reflects the tests really accurately.

The class can be difficult but as long as you read the textbook and pay attention in class you should be fine :). There are 3-4 multiple choice chapter quizzes a unit that are worth most of the points in euro. Make sure to do your best on them because they are the easiest points in her class. Try your best on the essays as they are worth 40 points each but don't stress if you don't get the score you wanted. Short answer questions can be hit or miss so just do your best. They are only worth 20 points so don't stress if you don't get a good score. Overall just try to enjoy euro because it's an awesome class and Bergen is an amazing teacher.

If you have questions, make sure you ask them because otherwise you’ll be very confused. Tests can be pretty difficult because his questions aren’t straight forward, they’re application questions, so you have to first understand all the info in the chapter(s) and then you also have to apply it to different scenarios. Great teacher though!! Loved the class, super fun. You gotta work hard though:)

The previous questions on this site were a little difficult to answer because Coach Camp is a PE/dance instructor so the questions didn't apply as much. However, if I were to give overall advice to future students who want to take her class, I'd say that taking her class is a commitment. Please treat her class the way you would treat other classes. I can't stress that enough. This should go without saying but when I took her class from 2017-2020, many of my peers did not understand this very basic concept. If you guys ever hear the talking point, "it's just dance. It's not as important as the other classes, " PLEASE SHUT THAT DOWN!!!!! That talking point is very disrespectful and degrading towards the teacher working her butt off to make the experience a good one for the kids. I heard people say that time after time and I can't imagine how it must feel for a teacher to hear that. It's simply appalling and unacceptable. A class is a class whether it fits your definition of "academic" or not. With that being said, please wear proper dance attire, take her corrections, practice the choreography at home, and try to cultivate a community there. It will serve you well to do the best you can do in her class.

The class is honestly a great experience. You will only succeed academically if you keep up with the material and understand it, so don't skimp on the reading and use outside resources until you get it! There isn't much math required for this class.

Always do your reading on time to prepare for quizzes. Take all the practice tests extremely seriously, don't just be lazy and skip through them knowing they won't be graded - this is likely the only practice you will have to prepare for the AP tests. Always try your hardest on the essays for the same reason.

AP Physics 1 - As long as you go through the packet once or twice, grades aren't worth panicking over. Formula sheets are readily available. If he hasn't posted the answer to a question on the packet (which generally he hasn't), there's a good chance you can just find it online in order to crosscheck your understanding. Tests will occasionally test high level understanding by testing on the following unit. Be prepared to mess up a couple of multiple choice tests, but the free-response ones are very generously graded. Overall a fun class.

The main drag for people (including myself) is the reading quizzes. Generally you cannot get away with using sparknotes, and many people learn the hard way. Aside from that, Mr. Penn is a good communicator, leaving a lot of very productive positive and negative feedback for essays, and being very fair with grading. The schedule gets pretty formulaic, so don't expect too many surprises. This is a very test-oriented class, and unlike AP Lang, you can expect to do little other than prep for the AP Test. Discussion is very directed yet open. The biggest thing is generating a "value judgement", in which the body of work you're reading has an overarching message not just about its characters, but about the world in general. If you make that observation clear, vast, and nuanced, that's half the battle.

Keep up with the assignments; a lot of little work will build up in no time, and the hardest part about this subject is understanding concepts so you don't want to be lost as his lessons build. Ask questions when you need help, but try struggling through it on your own a bit first and you'll find yourself enjoying the satisfaction of getting the right answer

This class has a metric ton of homework, and you can expect to spend about 2-3 hours every single day reading and working. Only take it if you're genuinely interested in the material. Having said that, if you do engage, you'll have a fun time here. Mrs. Skalman puts in a ton of work to teach this class, and her lectures, assignments, and projects are going to end up being worth it. Your tests will cycle through LEQ, DBQ, and multiple choice. The only negative is that her questions are more specific than the AP content is. The test will look for shifts throughout history, and general patterns, whereas she will ask about specific acts and occurrences. For essays, the best way to get a good score is a very long and specific thesis, and absolutely shoving your body paragraphs with as many pieces of evidence as you can possibly think of. Once you figure out how the class operates, you'll find yourself finding the content pretty interesting, and she does a great job at communicating her own passion for it.

First and most importantly, if your cheat on test and things, give up and go do biology or take regular physics. Your GPA will be ruined if he catches you cheating and he WILL catch you cheating. Second, do the practice problems because they are the best for understanding the topics.

APPLY YOURSELF! You may just take RO for the free PE credit, but it's really worthwhile to apply yourself. The most you'll get out of the class is by participating. Join a team, attend a drill competition, or just interact with people!
