Mr. Benbenek teaches a wonderful class! He is kind, smart, and passionate about helping you learn. I am now an English major at Berkeley, and found that his class model on emphasizing the lecture/in-class discussion & quizzes with less homework best resembles my classes at Cal. (Plus, the year the Cubs won the World Series he made us cupcakes)

Take good notes since you can use it on the test

Mrs Boe is an amazing teacher that helps her students grow academically and emotionally and listens to Green Day. Also gave me an Edgar Allen Poe cat sticker.

Ignore all of the hate towards Mr. Boone because of his tough grading system and instead make an opinion for yourself. If you work hard, listen in class, and show initiative, then you'll do just fine. Also, the homework notes usually take a while because there's just so much content, so make sure to take advantage of in-class work time.

All assignments require writing at least 2 paragraphs each and are assigned 3 times a week.

Mr Cheng is great! He's pretty lenient on grading and is the type of teacher who believes that a student is more than a number in the gradebook. Expect lots of group activities during class. This class is based around explorative learning (figuring out new concepts as a group) rather than instruction - based(the teacher just teaching you everything), so it might be a bit new to you. If you understand the concepts well, you will do great on tests/group quizzes.
