Amador Valley High School Reviews

Do your homework - Most of the material on tests is covered in your homework. Review for team tests too, and don't forget about them.

Mrs Anderson is a delight! She's really passionate about history and you really feel welcome in her class. AP World can be a difficult course, so make sure to know the content, ie, DO the notes, and UNDERSTAND the content. My biggest piece of advice would be to study the material AS it is being taught and never cram the day before the test. Also, the MC's can be BRUTAL, so make sure to do practice questions before tests. As for the writing, (there's a lot) make sure to practice that too, and you will improve through the year. (Heimler's History is really helpful). Most importantly, don't give up: even if you aren't happy with your results(and you definitely won't at some point in the class), keep trying, ask for help, talk to your classmates, and trust me, you'll get there ;) If this course taught me anything, it taught me about grit, dedication, and hard work in the right direction.. I hope you found this helpful and I wish you good luck on your academic journey..

Make sure to actively pay attention during class lectures, notes.

Take advantage of the review activities in class. You don't need to study a whole lot.

Make sure to read the recommended assigned reading sections every night. Otherwise, it can be very easy to fall behind

Use all the resources: textbooks, classwork, etc. STUDY THE KBAT!!

Make friends with Madame! She is one of the kindest and best teachers you will ever meet. Did I mention that she actually teaches! I learned more in her class than any other French class. For her class, just make sure you pay attention in class and participate in the activities. If you do these two things, you will learn quickly, clearly, and effortlessly. Best French (and one of my favorite) class ever! Madame, thank you so much for such an awesome experience!
