You don't have to memorize much, just do the homework the teacher gives you and read the lesson a couple of times.

I had Ms. Birbeck in 8th grade during distance learning. Compared to my 7th grade teacher, she actually teaches us things, provides help, and is quite clear for the most part. She also guides us into taking notes and responds to emails right away. However, Ms. Birbeck is very tough when grading homework and she has some strict rules that are important to remember. Also, her exams are straightforward yet provide many opportunities to make careless errors. Make sure you review your notes the night before and pay attention during her class.

Memorize vocab definitions word for word, that's what happened my year. If you procrastinate getting her is your worst nightmare. rip to those in honors. she probably did decrease the workload though.

Always bring your instruments to school and keep them maintained! Also, make sure to listen to Mr. Conway's instructions and not joke around because he's extremely passionate about music. You might spend an entire period listening to him talk about how the music department needs funding, but he's a good man with a pure heart. He might be nicer or meaner in the upcoming years because his eyesight is declining due to a condition he has, so try to be sensitive about that subject. All in all, Mr. Conway is a great teacher who will help anyone with music, so you really only need to try hard to do well in his class.

she grades homework very harshly and very specifically. she may spend an entire period just grading one homework. Also there is very less homework, so if you fail one homework, your grade can drop down significantly.

I had Mrs. Das in 8th grade for English Honors. Her class was a lot of fun, and I never got bored. However, Mrs. Das would assign us either very little homework or a lot of homework. We had to write full-length essays in the span of just 1-3 days, so time management was crucial. But Mrs. Das had this super cute, bubbly personality and an adorable sense of humor. After being with a person like Mrs. Das, you can't help but forgive her even though she assigned you three hours of writing the night before! Overall, I had a memorable experience in her class-- but for incoming students, you may want to improve your typing skills...

I mean shes okay. she lowk doesnt teach but if you know what youre doing you'll be okay. the only part that bothers me is the participation points bc she'll call on her favorites even if someone else has way less points. also shes way too particular about formatting. istg she took off 2 points on my quiz bc I didn't add arrows to the graph. hw is tedious but doable, if needed js copy off the back of the book, but make sure you know your stuff otherwise you're gonna fail the test. everyone grades each others stuff, she doesn't really grade much, just writes the final score. overall pay attention and work ahead, even if you have friends in this class you're not going to have any fun but at least you'll pass.

Just try and get on Mrs. Hu’s good side and it should be fine from there, but her class is pretty hard and she does assign a lot of homework so try not to get overwhelmed, and her tests are variable, some are easy but majority are hard.

Generic PE class; although he does make you do a lot of physical exercise, so much so that there is a unit just for cardio. If you're physically strong, you'll do great in his class; if you're not, you're cooked. He grades very seriously. By the end of the year, your mile time must be below 9 minutes; each additional 30 seconds counts as 1 point off.

just stay on task and she will be a lotta fun. if she seems boring, just tell her a joke and she'll. brighten up. also even she assigns hw, it doesn't even matter and you barely have to study for tests/quizzes, they are really easy.

Ms. Nyguen's class is pretty chill. She just plays videos and gives a handout which you fill out while the video is playing. She has this class dojo system, where you get points for answering problems. Top 20 in all her periods (a few people from each of her periods) gets a free boba at the end of the semester. That's nice if you can answer the questions on the handouts and like to participate. There isn't much homework. It's just completing some ALEX skills and some ixl. Just review the handouts, understand the material, and ask questions. Her class can be a little bit boring though.

Film productions is pretty fun, but it your group gets on his bad side(goofing off, playing games on your phone, and getting nothing done), then good luck to you. But otherwise, film productions is a really fun class. You get to go on two road trips to SF.

Make sure to pay attention in class. He teaches notes about once a week or so, and he extensively covers said notes in activities. Just by paying attention and actively raising your hand to answer questions, you should be able to memorize most of the curriculum.

Just pay attention and you'll most of the time get almost all the classwork done. Finish reading the chapters on the assigned books on or before the deadline and finish the questions that go with it if applicable. Actively participate with your assigned partners or groups. Start on essays as soon as possible and ask for help if needed. The assigned reading books I got in my year were: The Outsiders, Chasing Lincoln's Killer, and Whirligig

Ashley Trahan, 7th/8th Science

Ms. Trahan is a really nice and good teacher. She explains things really well just the new science unit, Amplify, is boring. She barely assigns work or homework like at all and the only things graded are the seminars tests and some homework assignments she rarely gives. Though, the thing is she grades out of like 3 or 4 pts because she grades on your understanding so if you get a bad grade on one thing it really affects your grade a lot so yea but there's barely any graded assignments and she teaches them really well so you should be fine.

Write a looooot on the journals. I mean it. I write a full page in the 8 min time period on a big notebook and she never gave me an A. Take care to study. And don’t depend on your teammates during projects. Think of what to write and draw, and write and draw it yourself. Unless there’s enough time so the drawing kid can draw it in front of you during class.
