This class was easy and he made it more fun with jokes. Lots of engagement all around through group projects/presentations, few essays, debates/discussions, and regular busy-work. There was also 1-3 TAs available everyday to also help. He is truly understanding and cares for the well-being of his students. He lets students eat during class because some skip breakfast or are already hungry before lunch starts, compared to other teachers who only worry about having cockroaches in the classroom over the student’s health. Assignments are posted through Google Classroom. Stay on task and do your assignments before the deadline to pass.

The class is pretty difficult if you are only doing the homework instead of deeply understanding it. The tests may be tricky sometimes and you must get used to the grading standards. Make sure you are consistent and follow all rules set out by Mr. Chen--if you do not, you will lose points and easily drop to a B.

A2 is definitely living up to its name. This class helps in a way prepare you for statistics if you plan to take that.

Best child dev and fashion teacher ever. Took her all years or child dev and one year of fashion. She has NO homework, just class work. The only time you get homework is when you do not finish what you do in class, which can literally be done in 30mins to an hour. The only time you have "tests"/"quizzes" is at the start of the year, but its just kahoots and if you get a bad score, she will let you redo until you get an above average score (like a C or B). She stops doing the test/quizzes later in the year. Very fun class, very scared of the electronic baby though.

She’s the only teacher out of the whole school who actually teaches the content thoroughly. There was rarely any homework and when she does give out homework, it takes 5-10 minutes to complete. The class is straightforward: you pay attention in class, take notes as she lectures, and study for tests. Take this class if you can! Not just for the ap credit but to actually learn. This class also prepared me when transitioning to university level since most of college courses don’t give busy homework and only lectures + tests. I wish most teachers would be understanding like her to how students also have extra curricular activities, work, or family life after school. She WANTS to help her students succeed and stays updated each year for the ap exam. Tutoring is offerred afterschool once a week. She encourages you to ask questions if you need help.

Both Spanish 3/4 and 5/6 only emphasize vocab and conjugations. It does not focus on actual Spanish speaking compared to AP Spanish. If you’re a non native speaker, I think it’s good to take these classes to know the basics. However, after these two classes, I still couldn’t form and speak a detailed sentence in Spanish. Everything is busy-work and just plain memorization of the conjugations. During class time, she puts a timer for every assignment and when it goes off you move on to the next one. I don’t prefer her teaching style but just do the work and you’ll pass.

A lot of work may be given on time and it is best not to slack off. If you do not do one part of your work you may be lost. The work load is not as hard as oe might think.

Not a bad teacher at all, love mr lau to bits and pieces, but since he is an ap teacher as well as a regular econ teacher, expect to do a LOT of work, which is mostly note taking. Honestly, he pushes in order for you to succeed in class. So don't complain when you get him, be grateful, unlike the other econ/gov teachers. Just do your work, turn it in, and participate.

The class is accelerated of course, but the subject itself is not hard to understand. The homework ramps up as you go through the year and begins to be a LOT.

DO YOUR WORK, there's alot. Regrading is something to take advantage of. Do not get caught on your phone. Work is heavily graded so do your best and understand it's ok to turn it in late. Follow school rules inside of class. No talking inside of class. Do you work. watching videos and taking notes is a common thing here. Reading annotating and captioning are also very common. In this class you MUST circle key words. All work is graded and fairly quickly.

Even as a non math person, this class was pretty easy. He taught from a projector, sometimes lets you work on homework in class, and if you actually pay attention or do some work you’ll pass. Most of the students in my class didn’t care about their grade and were always distracting those who were trying to stay focused. Homework wasn’t a lot and he helped you prepare for the tests.

Homework was A LOT. Probably 50-100 problems per topic. Calculus is a tough subject but he made the class easy by just assigning homework problems (the hw was not easy though lol). Most students did the bare minimum, didn’t pay attention/did not do the homework, and still passed the class. He doesn’t prepare you for the exam since none of his teachings focused on word problems or past ap test examples. Ap exam was nothing like the textbook problems/tests. Tests were short but difficult and took the whole class period. The class gave me anxiety and I took an L on every test even when I studied.

If you don't read the book, at least read the spark notes. When you turn in homework it will be signed and returned to you. IT HAS NOT BEEN ENTERED INTO THE GRADE BOOK YET. You have to turn in all the signed papers at a certain point to receive credit for it, so make sure you keep them. Writing assignments are easy points. Literally just write something - anything. Finals are can be a choice between a multiple choice or essay about the book you just finished before, or both. The essay can be easier because there are usually multiple prompts you can choose from to respond to.

There is a huge gap between Spanish 3/4, 5/6 and AP Spanish. As a non native speaker, AP Spanish was way more helpful if you wanted to learn AND speak Spanish. After taking Spanish 3/4, 5/6, I still couldn’t speak Spanish at all. Valinhas actually prepares you for the ap exam but he is very tedious and too organized. The tests and essays were difficult. The homework revolves around speaking and writing. There’s an assignment given everyday. His teaching style is also similar to Joya’s where he uses a timer and moves on to the next assignment when it goes off. As long as you do all the homework on time and study for the tests you’ll pass. Participation is required and he seats you next to a native speaker which is helpful.
