The notes (class slides) are not very detailed. If you miss a class it's likely you won't be able to understand the material by only reading the slides because they usually consist of images and graphs, not explanations. Do your best not to miss class and one thing that really helped me was read the slides in advance to get an idea of what we are learning + watching youtube videos beforehand to understand the material during lecture.

Listen in class. Everything he says is important. However, it's not hard to remember because a lot of the concepts are interwoven together like a story. Don't buy the textbook. We never used it. The only time you could use it is for extra info on research papers and such but he provides a long list of great sources so the textbook isn't necessary.

Take your own notes of the things on the slides, even if they're just online. Just write a little summary of each section/topic and you'll save yourself a lot of annoyance trying to figure out the slides when studying for tests. Doesn't have to be long, just 1 or 2 sentences and you're good.

We had to write way more than expected, and you had to memorize a crazy amount of names of authors and texts read and information about them. She was, however, VERY enthusiastic about teaching and as long as you paid attention, it was easy to follow along.

Don't cram before the exam unless you're exceptionally smart. Good ways to study for bio (according to myself and others): concept maps and cheat sheets (look it up on instagram if ydk what that is). Lectures are material-heavy, bring a coffee if you know you're tired before class. Boris can go through a whole chapter in one class, so be prepared to review the material after the lecture or else you'll come into the next class with no memory of last class. Boris is awesome (one of my fav teachers), super understanding and genuinely wants to see his students succeed. The only thing I can complain about is the class notes. Every slide is a jumble of random images, key words, acronyms that you might not remember after hearing it the first time. Watch youtubes before and after (if you still don't understand the material during lecture) and know what material will be covered in class ahead of time. For tests/exams, study EVERYTHING. The smallest detail you missed during your test prep could be on the test.

dont buy the textbook. waste of $50 when we do use them (rarely) he prints out photocopys. tests are impossible unless youre a dictionary. dont be late and dont ever miss a class

If English with Bradley pops up in your schedule... TAKE. HIM. The best teacher!! Last fall he only taught one class which makes me very lucky to have had him. He makes English (a typically boring class) so interesting and the texts we cover are diverse and fun to read. Yes, you will need to do readings and occasionally do your writing assignments at home but most assignments are done in class, barely any homework is given unless you count readings (just read those in the bus or something). Bradley is always willing to listen and is super understanding of his students. He's a very fair grader and he will deliberately look for elements in your answer to give you extra points. A high average is VERY doable in his class. Just do your best, perfect your grammar and participate in class; even if your answer sounds wonky he will find a way to make it sound smart (or to avoid making you feel embarrassed at the very least lol).

The whole class is effectively a homework simulator, every single grade is homework, the quizzes barely count for anything (besides the final exam). The quizzes will always have material from the textbook which IS NOT covered during the class, so you'll have to study on your own.

No need for textbook, just write the concepts down in class and google later Few assignments, but when they're given they're pretty long (1h for short ones and 5-6h for the final assignment) Requires a lot of writing, but only had 3 assignments all semester, loved his class.

I had badminton with Natasha and it was my favorite class without a doubt. Natasha is so kind and has a great energy about her. Classes are really chill; you start with a warm-up and proceed with practicing certain shots all while recording your progress into a booklet, end the class with some friendly matches.
