At the start of the year, he will say you are failing constantly, but as long as you do some of the work on time you will be fine, and at least hand the culminating in you will be fine. He will offer a lot of help if you are falling behind throughout the course.

For grade 10 History, the culminating's worth around 20%, so much more than the exam which is unlike other classes. Make sure to spend a lot of time working on that, but also study for the exam even if it's not worth much. I did really well on the culminating but kind of bombed the exam lol. The scrapbook assignment took a really long time to do so try not to leave it 'till the last minute, save yourself from that all-nighter. And if you're trying to find a place to buy the scrapbook go to Staples or Walmart. Also, this class will probably be your introduction to annotated bibliographies, so apologies in advance for that, they're the worst. This class was pretty great though, I really did enjoy it.

She teaches drama, by walking through that door you are signing up to memorize lines and do questionable things. The class requires you to engage in a vareity of genres like realism, canadian theatre, absurdism... etc. it's not hard, but can be time-intensive. getting a 90+ isn't very hard if you show up to class.

Being in Ms. Kim’s class has been a delight. She is incredibly knowledgeable about what she teaches and is always available for extra help. Make sure to do extra practice questions at home, even just one or two a day can change everything. Ms. Kim is a great teacher but she goes really fast, so if you’re confused make sure to ask her to backtrack as she is always willing! She is great and genuine cares about the wellbeing and grades of her students and you’d be lucky to have her! For context I had her for Grade 10 math.

Mrs Kinghan was by far one of the best teachers I had in high school, simply because she is actually really good at teaching the content. I had her for my grade 10 civics and careers, and she was amazing at conveying the content in a way you can understand. She is also a ridiculously easy marker, so long as you submit your work on time. If you are even just average at writing, you will do fine in her classes, as long as you try.

For music theory, ask for clarification or help if you need it. Music theory can be confusing and asking for extra help really does go a long way. Other than that, just practice! As much as you can, seriously, try not to push off practicing it's the only way to really improve!

Shaun Knowles

Knowles’s computer science and computer engineering classes will adequately prepare you for the University of Toronto and University of Waterloo computer engineering/computer science programs. His teaching style is rather unique and effective, and he does a very good job in actually giving advice on side projects and other applicable/relevant skills that students actually need to succeed in life.

Participate as much as you physically can and EXPAND on everything. Essays should be minimum 8 pages long if you want to get a good grade on them, and be warned- tests are "not allowed" in this class.

Use your resources ―tuning apps, metronomes, online recordings, even annotating your score. Do everything to practice effectively, and make sure to catch yourself with tuning mistakes early on to avoid letting them seep into your muscle memory.

Ask for help if the AutoCAD is giving you trouble. Asking for help really does go a long way. Also, even though this class might be just an elective, put some work into it, and let yourself be creative for the assignments. This isn't a class that's easy to forget.

focus on every lesson, each one is key, note most things down, don't burn your hand out too much, the course is writing heavy during lessons meet criteria, assignments can be both subjective and objective, do well on the tests, as they are very objective, whereas the debates will be more so subjective participate in class, he likes people that participate, and ask good questions, show that you are interested

Okay I'm Class of 2019, and I had Sawires for grade 11 mixed math. I LOVED her class, by far one of the best teachers I had in highschool, as long as you do the work and ask for help when you need it you'll do great in her class. The year I took it I actually ended up getting the best in my whole grade for that class (for context i had NEVER gotten over a 72 in highschool math before this). Sawires if you're reading this I miss you you're one of the best math teacher's I've ever had <3

Make sure to study days leading up to the test, quizzes, exam and not just before. Be prepared for labs and the post lab questions which in my opinion sometimes are harder than most quizzes.

Plan your time wisely as sometimes I found myself running out of it, he allows you to take the projects home so you should take advantage of that too. Almost all resources he has like a 3d printer, and all the other tools in the shop are available for you to use so use them. Overall chill class and teacher.
