This class was extremely memorization-based and almost entirely hinged upon retention of vocabulary and minimal grammatical structure. Speaking and writing were not especially important, except for PALS.

Although Madame Butts is an extremely warm and welcoming teacher who obviously has a passion for the language, her ability to teach in an engaging manner is limited. This class effectively convinced me that I neither liked nor was good at French. If given the choice between her and another French teacher, I would choose the alternative.
