I was in Mr. Donald's debate class for less than a month. The lessons were interesting, but the way the debates were handled were terrible. The class aide lead them and the teacher sat there while I was chewed out by the aide and chided by my classmates. I have no ill feelings toward him, he's a nice person, but the class wasn't for me. The students were more intense than the actual class. Anyone who's overly strong about politics might enjoy this class, but it all comes down to what side you're on. If you're a conservative, you might be figuratively eaten alive. (Considering stories I've heard, the same goes for his government classes. )

Mr. Donald is a fine man and I've had a few good conversations with him. He was very understanding when I told him I wanted to leave. However, I joined the class to find my voice and become a better speaker and get over my social anxiety. If anything, it made it worse and left me in a deeper hole than I was already in. I wish him the best of luck and hope that he can improve his classroom environment.
