The most important thing you can do to be successful in really any English class, but especially so in this one, is to genuinely try to connect with the material. A lot of the reading that you'll do in this class is actually very profound, and many of the books offer some serious food for thought. For me, personally, I was really able to connect with books like The Catcher in the Rye, and I think that doing so both enhanced my enjoyment of the class and my success in it.

Ms. McCabe is a fantastic teacher and is clearly passionate about her job - all that any student has to do in order to have a good experience in her class is just to put in the effort to read and to try their best.
