You don't really have to read the textbook, but be familiar with the key terms in the textbook, and gloss over the chapter outlines. The writing in this class is pretty intensive, but it prepares you extremely well for the AP exam! Participate in class discussions, they're only as useful and fun as you make them to be. Go above and beyond for projects, because they can boost your grade incredibly. :) Also! Be the best you can be, especially if you want a college recommendation, because Zivin/Keahey compile a selective list of who they'd give recommendations to, and release it at the end of the year.
