Read the books assigned, but also use spark notes to help with parts you don't fully understand. Also, study for the book tests. It may seem unnecessary, but I felt that it helped me do a bit better.

For AP Language and composition, be prepared to do a lot of writing and a good bit of reading; however, if you know what you signed up for, then you won't have any complaints. Mrs. Barnett was one of, if not the best, teachers I had in high school and taught her class very well and prepared us for thoroughly for the AP exam.
