You may want to be prepared to do some research on your own. Sometimes he skips things when teaching and it can get a little confusing.

I would say this class has a bit of work that is challenging to complete on my own sometimes but I'm sure it would be a lot different if we had school 5 days a week. (As this review is being written, we only have class once a week due to the pandemic).

It can sometimes be very confusing figuring out where the assignments are and what is due or not. He doesn't like to use just one platform to submit things in. So be on the lookout for new assignments and whenever new assignments come in, write it down so you can know what you need to get done.

The only negative thing I would have to say about the class is the kind of kids taking it. The classes she teaches are basically non-college preparatory versions of regular math classes like Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, etc. I personally took the lower level class so I could feel more relaxed and have less math homework because I already have enough other homework, but for most people taking the class, that's not their reason. Around 85% of the kids are the trouble maker type and can be very distracting when trying to focus and learn. On a positive note, if you are simply just compliant and you show that you're trying and you aren't rude and don't interrupt, you'll be well liked in the class since the bar is set low. As far as the actual class material, I absolutely love the curriculum she uses. She even puts her students in her word problems and makes sure by the end of the year that she's included everyone! The methods she uses to teach is very engaging and I personally love the class, just maybe not the kids in it.

As much as you can help it, do not be late. She will call your previous class teacher and tell them to make you leave class early if you can't come on time. She wrote me up for detention once because I had to walk 10 minutes to her classroom. Make sure you make plans to get there on time.

Chemistry can be a challenging course. I do believe that Mr. M tries his best to present the information, however it really is up to you to put in the work to be successful. Overall I would recommend this course/teacher just be prepared put in the work if you are striving for A's

The workload is kind of a lot. It's not anything too tough or difficult, but don't find yourself falling behind. He has a lot of webs that you will need to complete that you might not think are for points but actually are.

I would say that the writing is pretty high compared to other classes but not necessarily in a bad way. I'd much rather be asked to elaborate on my opinion of something than to spit out random boring facts I've been forced to memorize. While there's a lot of focus on writing things, he's obviously not expecting it to sound perfect like an english teacher may expect. As long as what you say makes coherent sense, you'll be okay. One tip I'd say is to make sure you do your entrance or exit tickets if he has any that day, BEFORE class ends, as it's counted towards your participation grade and this grade usually can't be made up later. His course is overall very fun and interesting and a lot more enjoyable than other history courses I've had! P. S., he doesn't allow phones whatsoever and he isn't lenient on it, so don't test it, haha

I personally loved the class. Sometimes I would find myself drowning in work but that was only because I had troubles keeping up with other subjects. She makes everything fun and interesting! If you ever need help with anything, she'll be there after school almost every day and she will sit down and help you with anything you're struggling with and get you back on track and where you need to be. Overall a great class.
