Class of 2021
I had Lit and Comp 10 with Mr. Wilkinson, this was a challenging class, and it was taught in a much more advanced setting than Lit and Comp 9. Due dates were ridged and work was graded very critically. We had times we could goof off and times we couldn’t and I really appreciated how separate those two were. And how it never seemed to get to out of control. I liked the structure of the class and how time was never wasted but I also never felt rushed. The books we read were actually interesting and we always got to choose what our essays would be about. Phones were absolutely not permitted but this really helped students get to know one another a lot better. This was one of my favorite classes, but I can see why others might not like it as much.

Mr. Wilkinson is a little bit of a character, he’s funny but also very serious, and while approachable, a little scary. He would also hate my coma use and tell me to fix my grammar, but I found his constant criticism helpful and constructive. He never liked my writing style but still helped me improve it tremendously with his harsh grading. He’s very good about getting student input and letting students improve as the year continues. He is very good with his email and if you have questions about a grade, will always set up a meeting with you. My only criticism is the amount of essays we have to write, but it is a writing class, so it makes sense.
