As long as you play your music you'll be perfectly fine. More often than not, he's always willing to help. Just don't use your phone in class. He also loves strong players, he says he likes to tame a band rather than beg them to play so don't be afraid to play out! (Just don't be an attention seeker)
Always take notes from the slides he posts and do test corrections every single time they're offered! Don't procrastinate on the key concept packets because they take forever to do. When he gives you work, get it done as soon as you can, do NOT put it off for later because it'll pile up. A lot of people say he's mean or a harsh grader but he isn't! He's super nice and very understanding. Whenever the class did poorly on something he always offered test corrections for those who wanted to do them. He also gave loads of extra credit opportunities that were pretty easy. Don't be afraid to ask for help because he will gladly assist you in whatever way he can. Along with that, if you have questions as to why you missed something, ASK HIM!! He will tell you why you didn't get it right and sometimes he'll actually give points back. Overall, he's a great teacher and offers everything he can to see you succeed.
