Something I wish I had done is made a dynamic formula sheet for reference on tests (most of them are open-note but it's time-consuming to flip through a whole binder). Studying before tests is essential, and make sure you retain information from prior units as some concepts build on each other. Overall, if you pay attention and ask for help when you need it, you should do fine in class; there are sufficient homeworks assigned that as long as you complete them your grade won't suffer too much due to tests.
