READ the books! If there are reading quizzes you will not do well on them without reading. For the essays, periodically ask the teacher for his/her thoughts, and they will give you great suggestions.

The class he teaches currently is Creative Writing. As a writer, you have to be well prepared for conflicts in your writing and improvisation skills must be high. You more often than not are writing to create a picture for him to enjoy as he reads. All essays and homework assignments are out a 100. Anything you miss is a fatal blow. Classwork is easy to catch up on.
