10th grade Honors Writing was well taught. I learned many valuable writing tips, and aced the Regions thanks to this class, taught by Marc Pierre. While proving to be helpful in the long run, this class was intense, tiring, and required the most work of any English class I ever have attended (until college, that is). Consisting of numerous essays, analyzing of texts, readings, and short answer questions, the amount of work seemed endless. The topics in the class were often controversial and long. The class, like many at Vanguard, lacked variety and focused solely on a single side of social justice issues. While still highly biased, this class was much more open and inclusive, and I feel that the things I learned were more relevant than those studied in other English classes at Vanguard. If you are a Vanguard student who is looking for a relevant, well-taught class that will benefit you in the long run, this is the class for you.
