The class is amazing, just pay attention and you will be just fine, Mr. Blanco is a very good teacher, but this doesnt mean to just slack off. He loves all his students.

Study. Study. Study. The examples he gives on assignments or homework will prove to be beneficial as it will be similar to on the test or quiz. If it's on memorization, my advice to you is to memorize. If on topics related to physics, math, or any calculations, practice with your peers.

For AP Lit: make sure you stay on top of the writing assignments and GO TO HIM for help. Going to class alone will not be enough to get a good score on the AP test. When it comes to grading writing assignments: good luck, I have no idea what his criteria are, it changes every time. I recommend you ignore the actual grade and just look at the comments he made.

The exams are most important, but it is also important to be consistent with work. Weekly little essays ring up zeros. She also reads and grades them like an Eng teacher. Be sure to put effort into it. There's not much to memorize if you pay attention to the in-class lectures and lessons. All material is reviewed in lessons. Take notes as best you can, they're graded! Zeroes add up quickly. She is a very kind teacher very prominent and skilled in her field. Make the most of the class.

I had him for physics, so, yeah, its physics not a cake walk. Do your homework and practice quizzes, the practice quiz questions are almost always on his tests, so if you can remember them that should help you out. Typically he had a do now, or what he called a "do it now" question when we got to class, dont worry if you cant get it, just try, he might check around to see if you did the question. He will go over it during class. Sometimes he has powerpoints, if I recall correctly it wasn't everyday. You need a notebook, dont try to do any of it on a computer its more difficult.

A lot of info that are on his tests and quizzes usually come verbally or from slides. Notetaking is essential for this class, and is not something that can be skipped otherwise, it'll lead to major confusion later in class. Be prepared for essay type questions and a lot of DBQ's on tests.

It might take some time to get used to the environment, but its overall a fun experience. One thing that is mandatory is to study at your own time whether there's an exam or not. The subject is not something that can be truly learned with just a teacher giving you instructions, so you putting in your own effort is a requirement. Try experimenting, tweaking or just having fun with the coding languages you learn throughout the year, which will mostly consist of C++, Javascript, Python, & SQL, and a little bit of HTML as the main curriculum.
