As long as you do your work, and don't fall asleep in class, you'll get a good grade. Ms. Almonte gives all the necessary materials for every student to succeed in the class.

Speaking/interpersonal tests and presentations are generally graded relatively leniently. She often gives tests on preterite VS imperfect, which trip a lot of people up. Homework is given usually given every night, although most of them are just generic "fill in the blank with vocab/conjugate the verb" filler sheets.

I had him for AP Chem, and my final grade was a 98%. Here's some advice: 1. ) Homework is generally not graded, and very little homework is assigned. However, you will need to independently review a lot to do well. You will definitely learn what you need for the AP exam, but don't expect any hand-holding. 2. ) Lab reports tend to be pretty minor grades (about one-tenth or so of your grade per semester in total). However, they are graded very leniently; if you don't get a 100% on every lab report, you're doing something seriously wrong. 3. ) Tests will make up almost your entire grade for the class. The good news is, there are a lot of them per semester (about one test every three weeks, give or take). Tests are a balance of multiple choice and free response questions, just like the real AP exam. With a handful of rare exceptions, there are no grade curves, but the free-response questions are graded relatively generously to compensate. 4. ) There are some things you will need to memorize, but don't use cramming/memorization as a crutch. You cannot memorize everything. At best, rote learning will get you a 3 on the exam and a low B in the class. Go above and beyond to intuitively understand the concepts, and you will be rewarded with a 4+/90+. 5. ) The class moves pretty quickly, and new lessons almost always build off old ones. Don't let anything slip through the cracks; it's very easy to fall behind.

English 9 CP was very easy and fun with Mrs. Caltiere, make sure to pay attention to readings and the rest of the class should be smooth sailing
