Ms. Smolyn will always give you extensions if you need them, she's very reasonable. However don't expect to get a curve on tests or anything drastic like that.
Class of 2025
For bio accel, the key is to review concepts on your own and thing about them on your own motivation. If you do that and stay on top of lab reports and studying for tests, you are setting yourself up for success. The memorization should happen naturally through just doing the work, not cramming it in.
Class of 2023
For bio- make sure to keep up with the material and do all your work! Participate in class and ask any questions that you have. Also it is so, so important to do the entire study guide BEFORE you go over it in class. Then you can jot down additional notes and ask questions, and you will be ready for the test. If you don't understand something, you MUST ask questions and figure it out, or you will fall behind for the rest of the unit. Pay attention in class and write down extra information even if it's not in the notes!

Ms. Smolyn (and the other freshman accel bio teachers and research teachers) is a fantastic teacher and she is incredibly helpful, responsive, intelligent, and kind. She's often pretty busy, but she's always willing to help, so make sure you reach out to her.
