- have a printed periodic table that includes molar masses rounded to the tenths place and color-coded classifications (e. g. Alkaline Earth Metals, Lanthanoids, Metalloids, Halogens, etc. ) - bring a regular or scientific calculator, a pencil, and an eraser - always use a pencil or other erasable writing utensil while doing practice problems - fill out the notes in full so you can reference them later - don't be afraid to make mistakes, ask questions, and make educated guesses - keep an open mind and accept scientific facts as facts
