Class of 2023
For Algebra IIH, - bring a scientific or graphing calculator, lined and graph paper, a pencil, and an eraser - have effective strategies in place to memorize complicated formulas - have effective strategies in place to stay calm and work quickly during tests and quizzes - expect to have to do a LOT of outside research to understand most or all of the concepts - if you can, subscribe to Khan Academy and Mathway (or similar services)

Class of 2023
The class I took (Algebra IIH) functioned purely as a source for homework and did not provide nearly enough information for the vast majority of students to succeed. The teacher never actually taught new concepts in their entirety, and he clearly didn't care about his job and didn't want to put any real effort into teaching and ensuring the success of his students. If you have any issues with attendance, your grade, etc., emailing him likely won't get anything done because he doesn't respond to emails and will usually ignore them. Expect to hear statements like 'this is super easy, ' 'this is really simple, ' and 'you're honors; you should already know this, ' even when you're supposed to be learning about something you've almost certainly never seen in your previous classes. If you're taking this class online (such as during the COVID-19 pandemic), expect to do very poorly without extra lessons from other sources.
