Pay attention to the lessons and you'll do pretty well in any tests he gives on the subject. Creativity in individual projects is expected and rewarded. Gibbons is very transparent about how much you should care about an assignment based on its impact on your overall grade, and what you need to do in order to receive full credit on any given assignment.
Definitely easy to fall behind in this class since Physics C is a very hard class conceptually. Glynn teaches you the main ideas but it is up to you to dig deep and have true understanding of what you actually learned. Don't let the ocassional webassigns fool you, it is definitely a class that takes a lot more practice than what you do in class.
