Essays and tests are worth the most but the tests are open-note. It is nearly impossible to get an A+ in this class so be prepared to get C's and B's on assignments and assessments. You will need to spend a lot of time and effort in this class.
Class of 2023
Make sure to be prepared for an insanely high level of English. This class has rigorous grades and very difficult papers that require a huge attention to detail.

Ms. Carp is a very harsh grader, but I say that in a good way. You really earn your A's with her. The essays are the hardest part of the class because she really forces you to write at your highest level by penalizing you for any small mistake you make. She isn't available often, so a rewrite or conference with her could take months. It's worth it though to improve your writing. Projects are the easiest part of her class; make sure to get an A or a 100 on these. Her tests are just as challenging as the essays, but if you study enough you should be in good shape. She's also very nice and open during class.
