So I had Spanish 3 with her. All her all task assignments are quizzes/tests. At the beginning of each unit, we get a packet. In this packet, there are 2 sheets of paper with 20-30 words on it. We have 2 vocab quizzes. 1 for 1 side of the paper. The second quiz for the second sheet of the paper. Vocab quizzes are 20-25 points normally. There is a listening section where you match with a picture. That is the easiest section. Then there will be sentences where you will have to fill in the blank of the sentence. You will get a word back for these sentences which will be vocab terms found on the sheet. Then, there is a logical/illogical section. In this section, there will be a sentence and you have to circle logical or illogical based on if the sentence makes sense or not. Secondly, you will have grammar quizzes. Let's say we are learning the futuro tense. There will be 20 sentences with a blank in the middle with a verb that you will have to conjugate in that tense. Thirdly, we will have warm ups. So if you have done spanish before you know what I mean. Everyday when you come in, she will have three sentences in English on the board that you need to translate in Spanish. Every once in a while she will collect these warm ups. Either, she will collect it for practice (when she doesn't go over the warmup) or she will collect it for accuracy (when she goes over the warmup. ) However, when she collects it will all go under a all task grade. It is very free points you just need to lock in for the warm up. I know it may sound weird, Moving on, at the end of every unit, we have a unit test. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it is pretty hard. I would suggest grinding the vocab sheet and the grammar tenses for the unit. It is mostly a listening/reading quiz. That is one part of the test which is 30 out of 40 points. Then, we have a writing prompt which is the remaining 10 points. This is not that bad. She gives you 1 or 2 retakes every quarter. However, she gets to pick the one you retake as she will go based off which quiz the class did the worst in. Vocab quizzes are not retakable. In conclusion, this teacher teaches pretty well, just pay attention in class when she goes over the tenses of grammar as those will be necessary for the quizzes/tests and do practices at home to prepare. Her quizzes are pretty easy. At first, she may seem mean, but she becomes better and has more humor as the year goes on.
