Pay attention and take notes. 95% of the classes will be Mr. Kingman lecturing for half the period or sometimes the whole period. Otherwise, you'll be spending the other half of the period doing a lab activity, which are usually pretty easy. The tests should be straightforward if you paid attention during class and asked questions.

i had him for two different classes. in 9th grade r+e there is not much i can help you with. you need to use your brain, understand what he says, and understand stuff from other classes to apply in this class too. think of murthy's law - everything that can go wrong will go wrong. you will have an amazing contraption only for it to perform terribly day of. if you're in r+e, good luck. however, 10th grade ess is a breeze. as long as you actually go through the resources you're given and do the labs, you're pretty much set. nothing too hard

Read everything he posts. Even if it seems trivial and pointless, it will probably show up on a test sometime. Remember: regurgitation not imagination!

Mr. Kingman has been the best lecturer and visionary teacher I've ever had. He's a great speaker, and his ability to explain the material so fluently, as if he were playing music, astonishes me. Seriously, the way that this man speaks for 45 minutes without stuttering and always knowing what to say next is out of this world. He also makes it entertaining with his stupid rock jokes and his obsession with idioms like "burning daylight" (you'll grow to enjoy them). While he doesn't post slides online and doesn't assign typical Canvas assignments, it's all intentional for his vision for all of us to be college-ready. It puts more focus on actually paying attention in class (a rarity in our shrinking attention span world), and sets us up for a college environment. He barely assigns homework, and when he does, it's usually a one-pager about case studies related to the material we learned in class.

Mister Kingman is very friendly and kind, but his class is as dry as a rock. (Ba dum tss. ) Unfortunately, the way he presents information is not engaging. Some of his expectations of the class are rather unrealistic and his quizzes are difficult because rather than focusing on the big picture, most of his questions are about minor details that, for students, frequently fall between the cracks. I have a lot of trouble learning things in his class due to his teaching style. Many of my classmates have very mediocre grades in his class because the material is simply too difficult or too detached from real life. He has also been known to interrupt students during presentations, make horrified faces, bombard you with questions until you are backed into a corner, and be generally rude while you are trying to present. Sometimes, it feels like he didn't watch your presentation at all. Overall, I do not enjoy his classes. He is very friendly and courteous to me and my fellow students outside of class, but in his class, I suffer.
