Don't hold back your opinions; this is a class where you should make your voice heard! Contributing to class discussions and adding your input is a major part of this course.
It's a difficult class and it's challenging. You have to put effort in this class don't push it off.
If you're not familiar with many topics relating to American government, go over some basic stuff the summer before (i. e. do the summer homework, etc. ) and you'll be good. Test material will always be reviewed, but weekly quizzes only get a few minutes before each. The essay questions are brutal, even for students who naturally like social science stuff. They are complex and you will probably not understand every part of every question you get. So, it's probably a good idea to tighten up your grammar and spelling so you can get the maximum points possible before he goes over what concepts you missed. There's a fair bit of group work, such as a couple of presentations and posters and the like, but these aren't difficult.
