1) British Literature obviously has a lot to do with LITERATURE. Hence, make sure you actually READ the books assigned. 2) LISTEN carefully to class discussions. If it’s glazed over, it’s probably going to be a multiple choice question on the test. 3) UNDERSTAND how to write a paper. You’ll be writing a paper based on “MELCON”s (you’ll know what those are) every once in a while, and getting the basic gist down is essential to saving your bacon.

Class of 2020
Mr. Akin is... well, funny and a good teacher to hang around. The only problem is that his curricular teaching isn’t exactly the best on the block. That, and you can’t always trust what he says (Do NOT think Humanities is easy no matter what Mr. Akin says! ). Otherwise, he’s not a bad teacher. Not the absolute worst, but I wouldn’t put him super high on the Benet teacher tier list. Mr. Akin, loosen up your curricular teaching and I think you’d be a way better-liked teacher.
