Be able to pay attention and participate. It is a great class :)

Start your test reviews early, especially for DE US, they're really tedious and stressful unnecessarily. Write down all his "hints" and look at the Quizlets, as most of the grades are just quizzes/tests. Make sure grammar on your projects is perfect as he's very petty about it.

I recommend you try very hard to teach yourself. The quizzes are very arbitrarily scheduled and never align with what was taught. Unfortunately, this leaves you to scramble to understand everything as the teaching is so erratic that it's impossible to figure out anything.
