She no longer works at Edgewood, but Ms. Behler was a fairly strict Geometry teacher. She didn’t accept late homework, tests were heavily weighted, and there were surprise quizzes almost every week. Sometimes we would be assigned a geometric proof as a bellringer, which was graded. I’m not sure how strict the current Geometry teacher is, but I recommend studying diligently and completing all assignments on time. This class was a big step up from Algebra 1.

On the first day of school, Mr. Clark said something along the lines of: “Listen, here’s the deal: either you take Economics with me now and actually learn how this stuff works... or you’ll stumble through real college-level Economics later, confused, frustrated, and probably crying over graphs and supply-demand curves. Your choice. ” From that moment, the class understood just how important this course was. As long as you put in effort, ask questions, and actively participate, Mr. Clark will do everything he can to help you succeed in class and on the AP exam in May. However, he doesn’t waste a single ounce of energy on students who aren’t serious about this class—like he says, it’s your future, not his. Grades are determined equally by tests and problem sets, and test curves are generous—but the amount of curve you get depends on whether you’re genuinely trying in class.

Honestly, finish all of your work on time and study your weekly Latin vocab and you will do fine.

Pay attention in class and complete your homework on time. Ask questions if you are confused. Mr. Johnson is great at explaining concepts. Mr. Johnson’s class generally moves at a very fast pace. Because the grading breakdown is fairly strict (Tests are 80% of AP Calculus Grade and Tests are 60% of AP Physics C Grade), I advise you to score high early and maintain 90+ test average to guaranteed an A in class.

I had him for Precalculus Fast-Track (no longer exists after College Board added AP Precalculus). The grading breakdown is strict with 4-5 tests determining 80% of your quarter grade. Mr. Muir is a fair teacher as long you pay attention in class and complete your homework. Both midterms and finals are 50 straight forward multiple choices.

Psych is one of my favorite classes. It is a very interesting class and while it can be a lot of work and a little bit of memorization it is not as bad as AP BIO or some math classes. The outlines are long so you should start them when they are assigned. They are not hard but they can take hours. It is a really great subject and very interesting. I recommend taking some form of psych at some point.

The majority of the grade is based on class participation. If you don’t dress in the gym uniform, you can’t participate and will receive a zero for the day. The worst part of this class was that everything was graded harshly. Every month, we had a graded fitness test that was scored based on our performance and the number of laps we could run. In addition, there were written tests covering the rules of different sports, such as pickleball and capture the flag. The way Ms. Woodside wrote those questions was intentionally tricky. The final exam was one large fitness test that included push-ups, laps, pull-ups, squats, and more. I barely passed the final with a 73.
