-Use pen, not pencil and remember to title and date pages in notebook, you WILL lose points for dumb things like that -Very memorization-heavy -Recommend ancient history more than modern for freshmen

I took his ancient world class, but I can't speak for the others. Class can be very interesting or very boring depending on taste. As a person who hates notes and history, I was surprised how enjoyable this was, especially because basically all we do in class is take notes. Good short-term memory is all you need to pass quizzes, not actual understanding of the material. Additionally, having basic knowledge of Greek, Norse, and Egyptian mythology along with geography helped me a lot. The class might feel dull at times, but King does try to make it interesting by telling stories of his divorce, dressing you up as a Roman soldier, etc. Finally, the homework is very tedious, but I would recommend actually reading through the textbook and not just looking for the answers to finish the homework, as textbook material might be quizzed without any mention in class. Speaking of, sometimes he tests you on things you never learned. If that happens, just hope for the best. Overall, a great experience, ancient might've been my favorite class in freshman year!
