Make sure you focus on the writing assignments, they're frequent-ish and the prompts can be challenging. Keep up to date with the assigned reading, since you will almost always have a discussion the following day that takes up a lot of class time. Homework is nearly always graded, so put at least some effort on it. Also, don't expect a 100% either on all assignments, in his class an 85 is a good grade. Vocab quizzes are rare, but do pop up later on in the school year, they're fairly easy. In general, all major assessments are writing, we had very few tests/quizzes.

Note: This references AP Biology This course is difficult. You definitely need to be able to memorize things effectively. There is a lot of homework in addition to textbook-reading, and though it isn't "mandated", don't let yourself fall behind. Take the notes even if she isn't going to look at them or grade them. Not only will this help you review for in class assessments, but also the AP Exam in May. They say that AP classes are designed to mimic a college curriculum, and Galuska has designed the class so that the workload and in-class assessments operate the same way. There is even a cat dissection after the AP Exam, the test for which she "modeled off [her own] college experiences". There is nothing worse than coming to class unprepared, but this hold true especially in Galsuka's AP Bio Class.

Note: This references Honors Biology. This class is extremely manageable as long as you keep up with the work. She is not the fastest grader by any means, but make sure that by June you haven't turned in any assignments from semester 2. Tests are fairly challenging, but sometimes corrections can be given. Labs are weekly, so expect most homework to be finishing up labs. If you ever need more time to do work, email her and there is a very strong chance she'll give you more time. Also, make sure you don't totally forget information from previous units, as some units build on previous ones.
