Walnut High School Reviews

400 North Pierre Road, Walnut, California 91789, United States

This is from my experience as a student of Andrew Chen's Calculus AB class. Andrew Chen is an amazing teacher! He is very clear in his class notes and if you have any questions, do NOT be afraid to speak up! He will answer your questions clearly and make it easy to understand. He has a class discord, especially for Calculus AB, so take advantage of it. He is open to DMs on discord and will often answer them. Tests are all worth 100 points, quizzes are 50 points, and homework is 5 points each. Memorizing formulas will be one of your best friends, but is not everything! It is also important to brush up on your algebra because a majority of calculus is algebra and trig. Homework can vary from a few problems to 20+, so keep up with it. He will try to get through all the topics fairly quickly, but this is to make time for the packet cram that is left for the last few months before the AP test. These packets are from a booklet and from past AP tests and can be difficult if you are a little rusty with the concepts. The best advice for these is to work together with friends and if you don't have any in this class MAKE SOME! Having a second or even third set of eyes is definitely a must in this class. And again make sure to take full advantage of the class discord because some classmates are more than willing to help.
