Pre-Calculus is definitely hard to grasp therefore the material was difficult all year long. There was a lot of homework assigned, but there was a week for each assignment and late work was accepted with some points lost. The notes were done online and were accessible after class. Office hours were also held regularly therefore help was always available. There were always corrections for the tests and quizzes. The class was pretty well-paced. Other than the actual math being hard, the class was good.

In order to do well, you really need to focus on what questions are assigned for homework. These problems are a bit more difficult than the ones included with the notes and are usually the ones used in exams. During exams manage your time, the whole period to do a test may seem like a lot of time to complete 20 questions but these questions usually have a lot of work that goes along with them. Work efficiently so you don't have to struggle at the end to answer them all in time. Also, color-code your notes it helps a lot visually and is a key part of the memorization process!

To be completely honest, for me this class was really mixed in terms of positives and negatives. On the bright side, Mrs. Pai does have detailed notes that she gives access to for the whole class, and she does have many office hours, so if you do need help, you can probably get some. However, I do recommend that you still study pretty rigorously even with the help of notes, since some of the homework and test questions tend to get more and more difficult, even with notes. For me personally, I feel that the notes give you a feel for the chapter content, but you should not rely on them alone, as majority of the questions on especially tests will be very different than what are on the notes. Homework in the class is usually assigned every week, so it's doable, and as a bonus, if you find yourself stuck on some questions, you can always ask the teacher directly for help. However, the tests can sometimes be pretty challenging, so I would just advise future students to study hard and try to ask as many questions as possible.

Use the the videos she provides every unit. At least in my experience, it was really helpful in understanding the material in the class. Also keep up with the notes in the class, while you may not understand it at first, it does at least create a starting point for better comprehension of the videos. Do not procrastinate on the homework and make sure to do it, it has significant weight on your grade and can be the difference in letter grades. Also take advantage of test corrections as they are limited to a window, so do them when you can.

Pre Calculus can be a difficult and rigorous class if you choose not to take notes. There is a lot of content to cover and the homework can be overwhelming. The assignments however are assigned a week prior so it is easy to stay ahead as long as you don't procrastinate. The references and video resources she provides are very useful in understanding concepts. This class provides office hours if you have lingering questions and also can be used to make up missing quizzes or tests. Most of the questions require you to show your work and the majority of the points you receive are from that work rather than the correct answer. In order to succeed it's recommended that you have the ability to stay focused the entire period.
